Insight Global is seeking a CSD (Centralized Subdivision) Designer to work in Charlotte, NC, with a utilities engineering firm. This role involves coordinating and communicating with account managers regarding underground utility design work for Duke Energy.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with Residential Project Account Managers to gather information from developers, such as neighborhood layouts and load data.
2. Determine primary cable routing.
3. Determine underground transformer locations and sizing using load calculators.
4. Design underground secondary cable routing from transformers to meter delivery points, and determine cable sizing using SEDS calculators.
5. Identify roadway crossing locations for primary and secondary cables and develop conduit layouts.
6. Receive and refine CAD files for land base mapping and construction prints.
7. Order cables and equipment needed for construction crews.
8. Deliver the completed design to the RPAM group, who will coordinate with developers and oversee project completion.

Must-Haves:

• At least 1 year of experience in designing within the power industry, preferably with residential underground utilities.
• Degree not required but preferred.

Compensation: $25/hr-$30/hr. Actual pay may vary based on skills, experience, and education.

Duration: 6-month contract with immediate hire opportunity.
