This position will be onsite each day at our Waco, TX facility. Mechanical Designer This Designer will be a critical part of critical ongoing capital projects for Polyglass What you Get to do: Create 3D shop drawings / machine designs of industrial automation parts and materials using a variety of design tools Cost optimization of designs Perform value engineering duties to support our Engineering and Operations Teams Support ongoing fabrication projects with appropriate follow-up and communication Produce strong documentation to support ongoing projects Generate Bill of Materials (BOM)’s Correct errors / omissions on documentation The skills, experience and knowledge you bring to our dynamic Engineering team: ~3-15 years’ experience in mechanical drafting/design, 3D modeling in an industrial automation environment ~ Background in Machine Design, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Building Infrastructure Modeling (BIM) and Product Data Management (PDM) ~ Proficiency in the following design tools: Solidworks, AutoCAD 3D, Autodesk, Plant 3D or Revit ~ Experience with document storage systems / vaults ~ Fluency in performing calculations as required on mechanical systems such as sizing of piping, fluid systems, pumps, as well as ability to size shafts, power transmission components, motors, gearboxes, bearings, as well as other systems You’re a strong fit for our role and environment because you collaborate well, take feedback well and can effectively capture and deliver on the vision of the greater team This position will be onsite each day at our Waco, TX facility.
