If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.• Delivering high-quality instruction to students in weekly classes• Communicating with on-site Merit theory teachers and other conservatory faculty to determine individual student needs and goals• Participating in Merit faculty meetings and department meetings• Complete student attendance during each class• Corresponding with Merit staff and students/families in a timely fashion• Other projects as assignedJob Qualifications & Requirements The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:• Proven success teaching music theory at various skill levels, from beginner through intermediate to advanced• Strong classroom management skills• Ability to collaborate and work well with colleagues and administrators• Flexible and adaptive disposition• A high level of personal musicianship
Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree in music or equivalent experience/trainingSchedule• Saturdays, September 14, 2024 to Saturday, April 5, 2025o 45-minute classes, scheduled for 24 Saturdays during the yearo Classes occur between 8 am and 2:30 pm. See below for class times:8:00-8:45 am8:50-9:35 am12:45-1:30 pm1:35-2:20 pmo Ideal candidates will be available to teach 3-4 classes weeklyo Conservatory Graduation takes place on Sunday, April 6, 2025Other Information
Compensation• Hourly base rates are calculated using a proprietary method that considers years of experience, recruitment/retention skills, studio size, education, and established success as a teacher.o Base rates range from $40 to $80 per hour for private lessons, with an additional $2.00 per hour added to the base rate for group classes.o Large ensembles pay 1.5x the group class rate.o Full-time faculty (780 annual teaching hours) qualify for insurance benefits. 401K eligibility begins at 500 annual teaching hours.How to Apply To apply, please upload your resume detailing your relevant experience and qualifications for this role using this link .
