Hybrid Pre-Authorization Specialist
We are seeking a Pre-Authorization Specialist to manage prior authorization requests for medical procedures, treatments, and medications. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of insurance policies and medical billing processes. Key Responsibilities: Review and process prior authorization requests for medical services and prescriptions. Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility. Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary information. Maintain accurate records of authorization approvals and denials. Follow up on outstanding authorizations to ensure timely decisions. Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance policies and regulatory requirements. Assist in training and mentoring new staff on prior authorization procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in healthcare administration preferred). Previous experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or prior authorization is a plus. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
