A leading active brand, located in the garment district of NYC is looking for a Designer for Men’s Activewear. Responsibilities: Research and identify trend, color, and print direction each season Work through all stages of product development from proto through final production Communicate with overseas factories to manage all deadlines within Development/Production Calendar Source incoming swatches/trims from the factories for seasonal fabric development Review incoming samples to present at customer meetings; making sure submits are matching to standard and licensing agreement Maintain an organized design space (samples, files, visual CADs etc.) so that information is readily accessible to teammates Maintain samples in design showroom Prepare color cards for internal and external use Assist in preparing pitch decks, color CADs, and samples for client presentations as needed Manage Hangtag and Packaging requests to update artwork for production orders Create packaging ideas for special projects, giftables, 2-packs, etc. Requirements: Knowledgeable about fabric and garment construction Working knowledge of activewear market landscape Working knowledge of overseas product development process Strong communication skills to collaborate and communicate internally with cross-functional teams: Design, Sales, Production, & Overseas Ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot and problem solve Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Self-starter and able to work independently or as part of a group Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficiency in a MAC environment Degree in fashion/apparel focus OR comparable knowledge/experience (5+ years) Additional Information: This is a full-time opportunity The position will be based in New York City - Midtown Manhattan Hybrid - this position allows for one day a week of remote work (dependent on the needs of the week)
