Northrop & Johnson is looking for a creative and highly motivated video professional capable of developing high-end audiovisual content with a strong focus on storytelling. Our Marketing and Creative departments are constantly growing, and we look to expand our asset creation capabilities to execute our Marketing and Brand strategies.
Candidates should be able to collaborate with Content Strategists, Copywriters, Marketers, and Graphic Designers while executing quickly and independently. This position requires particular attention to detail and a high disposition to follow brand guidelines, creative direction, and overall strategy.
The Videographer will be responsible for conceptualizing, shooting, and editing high-end audiovisual content that enhances the brand’s storytelling. The ideal candidate must have a strong artistic vision, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of how video content engages audiences across multiple platforms.
This role requires a balance of collaboration and autonomy, working closely with Content Strategists, Copywriters, Marketers, the Social Media Manager, and Graphic Designers while being able to execute projects from pre-production through final delivery with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the Creative Director to bring visual storytelling to life while adhering to brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with content, marketing, and design teams, as well as the Social Media Manager, to develop compelling video content.
- Participate in brainstorming and concept development for video campaigns, social media content, and brand storytelling.
- Operate video cameras and professional photography equipment to capture high-quality visuals.
- Direct on-camera talent and crew when needed, ensuring a smooth and efficient shoot.
- Record and manage high-quality audio, utilizing lavalier and boom microphones.
- Pilot drones for aerial cinematography, where applicable.
- Set up and optimize lighting for both indoor and outdoor shoots.
- Be available to travel at short notice when required for on-location shoots.
- Edit and compose video content with cinematic storytelling techniques.
- Apply color grading and correction to maintain a cohesive brand look and feel.
- Incorporate motion graphics, visual effects, and animations using After Effects (or equivalent).
- Optimize video formats for various platforms, including social media, websites, and events.
- Maintain and organize a video and audio archive for future use.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in videography, video editing, and production.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and cinematography.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro for editing and color grading.
- Experience with motion graphics software (After Effects, Cinema 4D, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Ability to work under creative direction while also managing projects independently from start to finish.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel at short notice and work flexible hours as needed.
