In this position, you will support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts by the university's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. You will attend on-ground and virtual activities such as admission events, faculty councils, exhibitions, and more. Among other duties, you may also participate in curriculum assessment and development meetings, accreditation support, institutional effectiveness meetings, or other publicity assignments.
The university's primary objective is to provide top-quality educational opportunities to its students within a professional environment wherein knowledge, creativity, discipline, and character are developed. Therefore, the professor's teaching activities, other assigned duties, and personal conduct shall support this purpose and SCAD's policies and philosophy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in illustration or a related discipline
- Experience in a related industry that can be translated into the classroom
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of industry experience as a freelance or studio artist in animation, game design, film, theme park design, or a related field
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level with the ability to instruct in historical illustration and various traditional mediums
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Procreate
- Experience in concept design and 3D software such as ZBrush and Substance Painter
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Academic and professional credentials to teach illustration
Travel required:
- Less than 10%
