JOB DESCRIPTION
Streetsense is seeking a Project Designer with expertise in hospitality projects to join our Interior Architecture team in Washington, DC.
In this role you will be part of a design team focused on creating innovative concepts for hospitality clients. You will be a self-directed participant in multiple aspects of the Interior Architecture process including, but not limited to the design & documentation of all phases of design and construction within established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements. You will be making independent decisions for projects and project teams while creatively leading multiple projects and liaising directly with clients and consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Perform within a design team in a self-directed manner in multiple aspects of the Design process including but not limited to the design & documentation of all phases, the preparation of materials, and construction administration activities within established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements.
•Take a lead role in programming, space planning, and conceptual design
•Direct and review schematic design and design development for content, accuracy, and overall design integrity
•Participate in design studies and evaluation of design in collaboration with the (Senior) Design Director in design development
•Oversee the development of the design of a project along with the production of the construction documents and oversight of construction administration, while liaising directly with clientele and consultants.
•Clearly communicate design concepts to confidentially conduct client presentations
•Develop details as it relates to the established design
•Manage workflow and production of deliverables of the team
•Research, recommend and select appropriate finishes, fixtures, and furniture within budget to avoid value engineering
•Coordinate FF&E and interior finishes presentations with the client and consultants
•Participate in construction administration, including review of RFIs, submittals, and site visits to ensure accuracy
•Lead design aspects of the project with the (Senior) Design Director and liaise directly with clientele and consultants
•Direct and review the design phases, construction documents and shop drawings for content, accuracy, and overall design integrity.
•Prepare workflow for junior team members and identify development opportunities
•Lead FF&E and design coordination, review and quality assurance including coordination with consultants, contractors, and other trades
•Focus on service delivery while monitoring the status of assigned project tasks against the project schedule and participate on quality and design reviews of projects
••Mentor team members in design practice, office standards and policies
••Successfully manage client demands and exceed client expectations, earning the client's trust and respect
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor/Master's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA or NAAB-accredited program
•8+ years of post-graduate professional experience, within the Hospitality Industry
•Advanced Proficiency and ability to train in Revit, BIM360, Specsources and Enscape
•Advanced Proficiency and ability to train in graphic and presentation skills in Adobe Creative Suite
•Advanced Proficiency and ability to train in construction documentation production, design specifications, and shop drawing review
•Advanced Proficiency and ability to train with FF&E providers and FF&E specifications
•Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines to provide high quality service to clients
Salary Description
$80,000 - 90,000
