The Position:
We are seeking a Marketing Planner, Ad Sales, to join our team. This role is an integral part of the Diamond Sports Group's corporate ad sales team, working across various national advertising partners, ad sales leadership, and local ad sales teams. The Marketing Planner will assist in creating go-to-market strategies, pitches, and supporting corporate ad sales projects. Reporting to the Director of Ad Sales & Partnership Marketing, this role involves developing comprehensive opportunities for Bally Sports’ MLB, NBA, NHL teams, and other offerings. The development and execution of these partnerships are crucial for the growth of our ad sales business.
This position will collaborate with multiple levels of sales management at both the corporate and regional levels. It will serve as the day-to-day contact for our ad sales partnerships in the national marketplace, working closely with partners to ensure revenue growth and successful delivery of current partnerships. The successful candidate will drive incremental revenue growth while managing national advertising campaigns.
The Game Plan: What you will do
- Support the national ad sales team in developing and executing sponsorship strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams—Sales, Marketing, Production, and Product—to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Create proposals for incoming RFPs that align with advertiser and category objectives.
- Highlight the value of Diamond Sports Group's sales strategies to address client needs.
- Collaborate with the Director and Sales Leads to manage proactive marketplace proposals.
- Complete additional projects as directed by Sales Leadership.
- Maintain regular communication with sales partners, agencies, buyers, and traffic teams to support sales activities.
- Coordinate with local RSN market sales and marketing leads to ensure sponsorship and integration details are accurate for local opportunities.
- Provide account management support for key ad sales relationships.
- Assist in creating effective go-to-market tools for the sales team.
- Respond to ad hoc sales requests.
- Develop a strong understanding of DSG products and solutions for advertisers, partners, and agencies.
The Stats: What to bring
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ Years of Experience in Media Sales Planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn proprietary software
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
- Good organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Adobe Photoshop experience is a plus
- Knowledge of Sports Media / Ad Sales industry is preferred
The base salary range for this role is $65,000 – $75,000. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, certifications, and location.
