POSITION SUMMARY:
The Telecom Project Manager (TPM) at ONUG manages and coordinates all details of design of telecom projects, and the ongoing development of client relationships. Working with and through engineering & drafting team members, they oversee and are accountable for project budgets and timing. They help generate profitable revenue streams for the Company.
As part of these responsibilities, this person is competent to read general construction drawings and/or CAD drawings, understand field notes, financial reporting, and record maintenance.
Responsibilities include oversight of all aspects of assigned projects including invoicing/job completion submittal. This work will involve management of customer, utility, contractor, and governmental agency relationships including permitting process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and coordinate work through a team of drafting, design & field professionals
- Maintain and help develop new and ongoing customer relationships
- Assure quality completion of outside plant engineering facility design and related field work or construction per customer specifications
- Create and/or coordinate the creation of invoicing and job submission packages
- Provide training and development of new and more junior employees
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Ongoing leadership and indirect management of staff. As needed, the PM will also help select, hire, manage, develop, and train team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required, with Engineering degree a strong plus and preferred, Substantial, relevant telecom engineering experience with project management may be considered as a substitute for degree.
- 3+ years Project Management or large job coordination experience
- PMP or other project management certification desired
- Training in outside plant engineering methods and procedures
- Functional knowledge of outside plant principals, work order procedures, PC applications, and OSP record and/or computer aided drafting systems such as AutoCAD
- Answer or coordinate response for all calls related to design, installation, or turn-up of equipment
- Extensive ability to compile and present detailed technical reports and analysis
- Familiarity with Utility coordination (power, cable television, gas, etc.) and Municipal and state construction permit requirements and procedures
- Ability and willingness to learn changing technology and processes
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
