The Leader-Courier and the Dakota Dunes North Sioux City Times, weekly newspapers in Union County, SD, has an immediate opening for a full-time staff reporter to join our award winning papers. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Journalism or a related field with the ability to write and report accurately on a deadline. Knowledge with Adobe Suite, photography and copy editing a plus. Assignments include but not limited to writing
weekly feature stories for both papers. Attending when possible and writing about county, city and school meetings. Recapping local high school sprts and reporting on other school events
Hours are mainly daytime Monday through Friday with occasional nights or weekends when needed. Paid time off and paid holidays.
The newspapers have a strong local focus, so the new reporter must learn about the communities we cover. Both papers are well supported by the communities they have covered for over 150 years
