Job Responsibilities

The Adjunct Music Instructor performs the following functions:

1. Provide students with course syllabus, grading/attendance policy, and other relevant information in a timely manner.
2. Relate instructional materials, discussions, and examples and illustrations.
3. Pace the instruction over the academic term.
4. Provide students with timely assessments and return assessment results promptly.
5. Relate assessments to course objectives and follow acceptable department and college grading policies.
6. Utilize appropriate instructional technology.
7. Maintain a positive environment for optimum student performance.
8. Submit reports in a timely manner and practice effective class management.
9. Prioritize duties and use time wisely.
10. Adhere to class schedules and meeting times.
11. Provide effective classroom/lab supervision and maintain accurate records.
12. Handle students’ work and records in a professional manner.
13. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Master’s degree in Music or a master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Music.
