School District Librarian
The Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District is seeking a dynamic and innovative School District Librarian to foster a love of reading, promote information literacy, and support our educational mission. This is an exciting opportunity for a certified professional to lead a vibrant library program that serves students, staff, and the wider community.
This positions serves the Boothbay Region Elementary School and Boothbay Region High School
Key Responsibilities
- Collection & Resource Management: Develop, organize, and maintain diverse print and digital collections that support curriculum and student needs. Manage library systems and ensure equitable access to resources.
- Instructional Partnership: Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging lessons on information literacy, research skills, and ethical technology use. Provide professional development for staff.
- Reading Promotion: Champion a culture of reading through engaging programs, reader advisory, and fostering a welcoming library environment.
- Program Leadership: Administer and advocate for a comprehensive library program aligned with district goals, managing budgets and supervising staff/volunteers.
- Valid Maine teaching and/or School Library Media Specialist certification (or eligible to obtain the certification upon hire)
- Strong knowledge of library principles, educational technology, and curriculum integration.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
The position starts: 25/26 school year.
