Join Our Team as a Polysomnographic Technologist!
Summary:
As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional pulmonary care to patients of all ages, including critical, non-critical, and chronically ill individuals. Under the guidance of a physician, you will perform patient assessments and implement effective respiratory care plans in a variety of clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Fulfill the standards of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Your responsibilities will encompass, but not be limited to:
Responding to emergencies (Code Blue and White);
Managing airways including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning;
Delivering aerosolized medications;
Setup and operation of ventilators;
Providing oral hygiene;
Placement and maintenance of airway retention devices;
Managing BiPAP and CPAP devices;
Administering oxygen delivery devices and monitoring therapies;
Performing chest film analysis;
Conducting blood gas collection and analysis;
Executing EKG analysis;
Ensuring accurate and complete documentation;
Maintaining cleanliness and stock of equipment and supplies;
Participating in CAP and JC surveys.
Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) may assume the role of Shift Leader or Team Leader.
Advanced practice duties may involve:
Managing therapeutic gases, including INO and HeO2;
Conducting pulmonary function testing;
Assisting in bronchoscopies;
Performing hemodynamic monitoring;
Analyzing waveforms;
Evaluating nocturnal SpO2 (Desaturation Studies);
Conducting polysomnography;
Performing transport duties.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
Refer to specific licensure and certification requirements.
Experience:
1 - 3 years of experience is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
RT or RCP License in the state of employment is required.
BLS certification is required.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC is necessary.
