A Lot About You
The Yahoo Finance team is looking for a New York-based reporter with a strong foundation in journalism. The ideal candidate will be stationed daily inside the newsroom of Yahoo Finance's New York City based office, and is someone who relishes reporting on business, markets, leaders, and investing news as well as providing context inside of content.
We're looking for someone who is looking to develop sources and their reporting skillset, and is always trying to dig below the surface to get to the real story. The ideal candidate will also have a strong appetite to report and analyze business and investing news on-camera for a global TV audience.
Your Day:
- Report investing and business stories daily that add real value across text and video formats.
- Engage readers online and help fulfill Yahoo Finance's mission to provide investors actionable financial information with unbeatable context.
- Handle numerous daily reporting assignments from the Executive Editor.
- Work collaboratively with the team's senior editor and video teams.
- Contribute reporting from Executive Editor when they are at key conferences.
- Develop innovative ways to tell daily investing stories through the use of infographics, video, and social media.
You Must Have:
- 6 months to 3 years reporting experience, preferably in business news.
- Solid knowledge of financial markets, investing concepts, public company leaders, and passion for business news reporting.
- The ability to produce numerous stories competitively and accurately each day.
- The ability to write clearly and utilize Yahoo Finance's many datasets in your reporting.
- A network of sources and an appetite to grow it each day.
- The ability to report on camera.
- The ability to work collegially and collaboratively with team members.
- The highest ethical standards.
- A strong desire to innovate and experiment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $46,500.00 - $96,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonuses or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
