Radio Campesina is hiring afull-time reporterto coverLatino communities in Phoenixand report on statewide issues affectingSpanish-speaking and bilingual audiences in Arizona. This role will focus on our 'Know Your Rights' initiative by reporting on issues relevant to this campaign, helping to inform and empower our community through accurate, culturally relevant storytelling. News, culture, and current events relevant to thefirst- and second-generation Latino community. As a key addition to our newsroom, this position marks the first dedicatedjournalist-level reporting roleat Radio Campesina, making it an exciting opportunity to shape our news coverage and expand our impact.

Radio Campesina is a community-driven media network dedicated to serving and empowering Latino audiences through informative, engaging, and culturally relevant content. As a leader in Spanish-language radio, we provide music, news, and educational programming that reflects the voices and experiences of our community. Through radio and digital platforms, we continue the legacy of César Chávez by focusing for social justice and civic engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, and produce news articles and feature stories inSpanish.
- Conduct in-depth interviews withcommunity leaders, experts, and individualsto provide well-rounded reporting.
- Translate and adapt content to effectively reach bilingual audiences.
- Report live and appear onpublic affairs programs, radio segments, and video contentfor digital platforms.
- Work closely with editors and multimedia teams to create engaging and informative storytelling.
- Stay informed onlocal, national, and international newsthat impacts Spanish-speaking communities.
- Represent Radio Campesina in the field, covering live events, breaking news, and key community issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Strongwriting and reporting skills in Spanish.
- Experience injournalism, media, or digital content creation.
- Ability to workon-camera for video reports and digital content.
- Comfortablespeaking on the microphonefor radio news reports and interviews.
- Knowledge ofAP Style, journalism ethics, and best reporting practices.
- Ability to work independently in afast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Work Schedule & Supervision
- Flexibility in workdays and hoursis required, as this role involves covering breaking news, community events, and live reporting assignments.
- TheDirector of Programmingwill serve as thedirect supervisorfor this position.
- Job Type:Full-time
- Hourly Pay: $21.63 - $28.48 D.O.E
- Work Location:In-person (Phoenix, AZ)
- Relocation:Radio Campesina does not cover relocation expenses.Candidates must be able to work in Phoenix, AZ without relocation assistance.
