Job Overview:
- Work collaboratively with lead trial attorneys to perform research, analysis, and writing tasks for various tort law cases.
- Contribute to the representation of plaintiffs in legal proceedings.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in the intellectual aspects of tort law and trial practice.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Analyze and interpret legal documents, including depositions, witness statements, and medical records.
- Draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs, and other court documents.
- Assist in case preparation, including organizing evidence and preparing exhibits.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and arguments.
- Attend meetings, hearings, and trials as required.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Bar in Maine or eligibility for admission by motion.
- Strong academic credentials, with a focus on tort law coursework preferred.
- Exceptional research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate them effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
