Responsibilities
- Develop design concept of buildings and spaces in 2D/3D, translate them into plan, elevations, sections and perspective view drawings, and create design presentations using freehand sketches, and 2D/3D modeling and rendering software, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) using Revit, AutoCad, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Studio Max, and SketchUp.
- Assist in design and concept development requiring expedited concept development and document production.
- Analyze sketches, photographs, notes, and site survey of existing conditions & other input material to determine best approaches for completion of drawings to solve technical issues of design in relation to site conditions and building structure.
- Translate clients' functional and spatial requirements into feasible design solutions, integrating projects into site context, responsive to prevailing regulatory, environmental and economic conditions; incorporating sustainable design principles.
- Assist in organizing coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
- Coordinate with vendors to translate designs into material selection for manual presentation packages.
- Assist in coordinating to obtain approvals from clients and state and local agencies having jurisdiction over projects.
- Assist in coordinating with civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), geotechnical, environmental, lighting, landscape, code, traffic, parking, zoning, signage, acoustic, sustainability, security, food service/kitchen, curtain wall, façade maintenance, vertical transportation, waste management and structural consultants to incorporate building systems into unified design and preparation of project drawings and specifications.
- Assist in coordinating project data and transmission of electronic communications.
- Assist in the preparation of oral and written presentations on the design and production of projects; assist in the presentation and explanation of proposals, reports and findings
- Attend internal meetings to ensure design specifications are coordinated with drawings
- Perform other duties as assigned or instructed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from accredited college or university in Architecture Professional expertise demonstrated through 1-3 years of professional A/E officeexperience working with various project types
- Proficiency using Revit and AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp and Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Experience using Newforma, Deltek Vision, a plus
- Ability to persuasively and visually communicate ideas
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with project personnel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team
- Ability to formulate sound and educated decisions based upon available information; strong self-confidence
- Excellent planning, time management and organization skills; strong ability to multi-task
- Excellent client/customer service orientation and presentation skills
- Ability to be highly creative and bring abstract ideas into design
- Understanding of various regulatory building codes
- Working knowledge of current construction materials and methods
- Capable of traveling to project sites within the state of Texas
- Willingness to participate on survey or assessment teams
