OPRCH is a full-service architecture and urban design practice based in Worcester, Massachusetts, with projects throughout New England. We specialize in crafting distinctive spaces that celebrate unique clients and cultural communities. Our portfolio includes civic artworks, community centers, creative offices, custom retail, residences, and public/private gardens. We seek out non-conformist clients and project partners, and work together with them to realize extraordinary solutions.
Position Overview
We're seeking experienced designers at multiple levels to join our growing studio. Ideal candidates will bring both core competencies and unique skills that complement our collaborative, culturally-responsive approach to design.
Core Competencies
Qualified candidates will demonstrate:
- Excellence in architectural visualization and graphic representation
- Ability to engage thoughtfully with diverse communities
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines and deliverables
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite
- Understanding of technical detailing as an expression of design intent, climatic response, and contemporary construction practices
We expect strong candidates to bring distinct capabilities to the table and recognize these will vary across applicant experience and background. Some examples may include:
- Grant writing and sourcing to support our collaborations with non-profits, artists, and mission-driven organizations
- Passive House certification
- Experience in landscape, ecology, or horticultural practice
- Hands-on fabrication, woodworking, or maker experience
- Digital animation/video production
- Weaving and fiber arts, programming, mural production/graffiti arts, glasswork, lighting design, screen-printing, graphic novelist, or other distinct obsession or subcultural expression.
