KEY ELEMENTS OF THE POSITION
Robb & Stucky Furniture and Interiors is seeking a creative and talented Design Consultant for our Fort Myers showroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating visually stunning and functional interior designs, developing a solid client base, and working with customers in our showrooms. The candidate should have a strong eye for detail, a good understanding of design principles, color, and texture, combined with a professional sales background. The role involves processing sales transactions, returns, and special orders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. The Design Consultant should be a team player, capable of providing direction and mentorship to design assistants, and interacting seamlessly with Management, Customer Service, and Office Support staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Work one-on-one with customers visiting our retail showrooms.
- Prepare design presentations on a project basis, using visual media such as fabric, finishes, photos, and floor plans, either in-house or digitally.
- Provide accurate measurements to our CAD team for presentations, utilizing room planning software or CAD assistance for studio presentations.
- Handle sales functions efficiently, including completing sales records and reports.
- Establish and maintain good interpersonal relations with clients.
- Project a positive company image to the public.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design preferred; 2 to 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in high-end furniture sales.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and administrative skills.
- Experience with CAD and moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and ability to provide transportation for in-home appointments, with verification of minimum required car insurance.
- Solid math skills.
