Position
The Head of Corporate Communications will lead and execute Rockefeller Capital Management’s communications strategy, positioning the firm as a premier financial services organization with a focus on wealth management, asset management, and investment banking. This individual will be responsible for enhancing the firm’s reputation within the financial industry, building trust among stakeholders, and driving internal alignment to achieve the firm’s strategic objectives. This role combines industry expertise, innovative communication practices, and leadership to articulate the firm's value proposition to clients, investors, employees, and broader industry audiences, ensuring its distinctive market positioning is consistently conveyed.
Responsibilities
Strategically position the firm as a trusted leader in the financial services industry by developing targeted communications and media opportunities that align with client priorities, industry trends, and regulatory landscapes. Develop and manage external communication strategies to enhance the firm’s presence in financial media, including crafting press releases, cultivating thought leadership campaigns, and overseeing senior executive engagements with financial journalists and other stakeholders. Act as the principal advisor to senior leadership on all executive communication matters, ensuring alignment with industry insights and the firm's business growth strategy. Manage and oversee media relations through short-and-long-term strategies to amplify the Rockefeller brand, its executives, and business lines across press outlets. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key reporters. Direct the firm’s crisis communications framework, ensuring readiness to manage industry-specific challenges, such as economic volatility or regulatory developments, while maintaining trust and transparency. Lead internal communication initiatives that keep employees informed and engaged, with a focus on creating content that reinforces the firm’s values of excellence, collaboration, and collegiality. Create and execute programs to amplify the voice of thought leaders within the firm, highlighting expertise across all facets of the firm, and partnering with the firm’s public relations partners on promoting all media content. Oversee the creation and distribution of intranet content and internal messaging platforms, ensuring alignment with the firm’s mission and vision. Develop high-impact content, such as executive speeches and corporate announcements, tailored to sophisticated clients and industry stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Finance, or a related field required. A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related area is highly desirable. Minimum of 7 years in financial services communications or public relations, with a track record of success in regulated industries. Media experience required. A portfolio of writing samples will be required.
Skills
Comprehensive understanding of financial markets, wealth management, asset management, investment banking, and the broader financial services ecosystem, including regulatory and compliance considerations. Proven ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear and compelling messages for diverse audiences, including clients, investors, and media. Exceptional leadership capabilities with experience managing multiple stakeholders and collaborating with C-suite executives in a high-stakes environment. Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and influence skills, particularly in building relationships with Rockefeller’s public relations partner and financial media outlets. A strong, hands-on approach balancing both strategy and execution with the ability to deliver in fast-paced, dynamic environment. Adept at identifying opportunities for reputation-building and brand differentiation within the competitive financial services landscape.
Compensation Range
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $250,000. Base salary for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. In addition, this role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
