QueensJob Summary:The Associate Director of Digital Marketing and Content develops and implements the institutional overall content strategy, raising brand awareness, safeguarding its online reputation, generating inbound traffic, and enhancing recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts. They know what it takes to create compelling content, grow our community, interest and retain them, and help convert them into prospects, recruits, and active fans and promoters of the University. They would have a command of best practices and emerging trends in digital marketing, enjoy being creative, and exhibit responsiveness, discretion, and a mastery of online etiquette.Essential Functions:Oversee St. John's University’s social media profiles and presence, minimally including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and LinkedIn.Assessment and mastery of emerging channels as appropriate.Lead a team to develop a robust content calendar and create shareable assets, consistent in voice and appropriate for specific networks to enhance the St. John's brand and reputation.Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about the University, its community, and existing campaigns or initiatives.Route social conversations to the appropriate University department or office.Implement digital media campaigns and provide performance reporting and analysis to determine ROI.Collaborate with members of the Marketing and Communications team and other University units to develop and publish content that educates and entertains our audience and supports marketing goals.Train other University units on social media best practices and assist them with establishing their social platforms and content strategy.Generate consistent traffic and leads from our properties.Analyze, review and report on the effectiveness of various tactics using digital analytics and media tracking tools.Monitor trends, explore and identify emerging social networks or engagement opportunities to reach our target audiences, and make recommendations for use.Monitor community posts, identify those of concern, and alert appropriate offices.Create and maintain social media guidelines, encouraging adoption across all University channels.CompetenciesActive and well-rounded presence in social media, with a command of each network, its audiences, and best practices.Excellent communicator and creative thinker with good judgment and an ability to use data and experience to inform decisions.Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing content management software to monitor social conversations and activity.Experience with the following a plus: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, demand generation, inbound marketing, and blogging.Strong project management skills.Supervisory ResponsibilityThey manage two social media managers, one full-time video producer, one content marketer.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a professional office environment; this position is required to use standard office equipment such as a computer, printer, cellphone, and camera.Physical DemandsThe employee must be able to attend events on and off campus and speak with the attendees for on and off-camera interviews, including nights and weekends.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkMonday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. (Hybrid)Nights and weekends are expected for priority events.TravelTravel is primarily local and may include visits to the other NY campuses; some travel is out-of-area, and overnight travel may be required.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree7-10 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $96,200.
