In this position, you will support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts by university's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. You will attend on-ground and virtual activities such as admission events, faculty councils, exhibitions, and more. Among other duties, you may also participate in curriculum assessment and development meetings, accreditation support, institutional effectiveness meetings, or other publicity assignments.
The university's primary objective is to provide top-quality educational opportunities to its students within a professional environment wherein knowledge, creativity, discipline, and character are developed. Therefore, the teaching activities, other assigned duties, and personal conduct of the professor shall support this purpose and SCAD's policies and philosophy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in illustration or a related discipline
- Experience in a related industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level
- 10+ years of industry experience - freelance, studio, etc.
- Digital skills - Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Procreate
- Animation skills in After Effects
- Ability to teach a range of traditional mediums
- Ability to teach Historical Illustration
- Willingness to bring industry experience into the classroom
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Academic and professional credentials to teach illustration
Travel required:
- Less than 10%
Work Hours: As noted in the Employment Agreement.
