The Marketing and Communication Director is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all of the Association’s marketing strategies, communication processes, and public relations activities, both external and internal, in order to advance the Y’s mission. The Marketing and Communication Director oversees the development and implementation of support materials, brand management, and message in the area of marketing, communications, and public relations. Implements analysis and reporting on all marketing activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and oversees marketing/communication strategies to meet strategic and operational priorities, working with all necessary leadership staff throughout the association.
- Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, and coaching, scheduling and on-going development.
- Create and maintain a favorable public image for the YMCA by handling media relations and communicating programs, cause, and community benefit.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team and Executive Director of Fund Development and Communications to release information to counter negative publicity and handle crisis and emergency communications.
- Develops, manages, and monitors Association’s Marketing and Communications budget in order to meet or exceed expectations.
- Develops, implements, and oversees foundational systems within the areas of Marketing and Communications, including but not limited to social media, facility and direct marketing, advertising, digital marketing, publicity, and internal communications.
- Provides guidance during creative process of conceptualization and creation of marketing and communications messages and designs, ensuring compliance to YMCA brand standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- 3 or more years of full-time marketing and communications experience.
- Proven track record of effectively managing and motivating staff.
- Experience in social media platforms and CMS programs required.
- Design skills and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in planning, time management, flexibility, organization, independent work, and presenting to individuals and groups.
- Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members.
