Directive Consulting is a performance marketing agency for SaaS and Tech companies. We focus on Customer Generation, a methodology that emphasizes SQLs and Customers over traditional metrics like MQLs. Our services include Paid Media, SEO/Content, CRO, and Video, creating comprehensive strategies to help clients meet their SQL targets consistently.
Note: This role is internally titled Content Marketing Strategist.
The Content Strategists and Senior Content Strategists are client-facing roles responsible for daily deliverables, creating and managing custom strategies, and communicating with clients and internal teams. These roles typically handle more Enterprise clients, requiring a deep understanding of their service line and its impact on other business areas to craft holistic marketing strategies.
The ideal candidate should have deep content strategy knowledge, along with a solid foundation in technical SEO, including site audits, structured data, and Core Web Vitals. They should seamlessly blend technical insights with content initiatives to drive organic growth and maximize search visibility.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Excellence and Best Practices
- Develop and implement tailored marketing strategies aligned with client goals and Directive standards.
- Use project phases, past performance, and ongoing campaigns to optimize strategies.
- Collaborate with Associate Directors to resolve roadblocks and ensure strategic alignment.
- Create creative briefs and develop compelling content campaigns based on competitor and audience insights.
- Apply frameworks such as LTV modeling, customer generation, share of SERP, and content production.
Goal Setting
- Analyze data from Google Analytics, CRM, SEMrush, and Ahrefs to set measurable goals.
- Work with AsDs to review and finalize goals before presenting to clients.
Project Management
- Oversee strategy execution, task assignment, tracking, and completion.
- Manage workflows using Asana, delegate tasks, and monitor progress.
- Coordinate with content writers, designers, and project managers to deliver quality campaigns.
Communication
- Serve as the main client contact, building trust-based relationships.
- Proactively communicate via Slack and meetings about deliverables and timelines.
- Inform leadership about roadblocks, opportunities, and account changes.
Reporting and Insights
- Prepare and present updates on strategy progress, including bi-weekly NSM reviews, monthly/quarterly reports, and bi-annual reviews.
Foundational SEO Skills
- Conduct SEO audits, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
- Execute on-page and off-page SEO strategies, including keyword research and link-building.
- Develop link campaigns to enhance domain authority and organic traffic.
Tools
- Must Have: Screaming Frog, SEMrush, GA4, Search Console, Excel.
- Nice to Have: Ahrefs, STAT, BrightEdge.
