Thank you for your interest in a career with Nova Southeastern University.Primary Purpose: Provides circulation services to library users and leads circulation department operations within the Panza Maurer Law Library.Job Category: Non-Exempt Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience Pay Basis: Hourly Subject to Grant Funding? No Essential Job Functions: The first priority of all members of the Panza Maurer Law Library team is to serve the Law Library and Law Center's faculty, students, and patrons. Each team member will not be limited by this job description in an effort to assist our constituency, but will perform tasks assigned by supervisor(s). Team members will be readily available, visible, and accessible to faculty, students and patrons, and if unable to answer an inquiry, they will ensure assistance is provided by another member of the Law Library team.1. Coordinates/leads the activities of the circulation desk staff to ensure an efficient operation and coverage.2. Provides circulation services to library users and assistance in the use of online research tools, process of overdue materials and check-in and check-out of materials to ensure a positive customer experience.3. Answers directional questions and refers patrons to appropriate personnel to ensure that the needs of library customers are met.4. Participates in collection inventory projects and shelving to enhance the quality of service for the community.5. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion, and any necessary communication in writing in order to ensure a smooth transition in circulation desk activities throughout the library's operating hours.6. Directs student employees in reorganizing library shelves.7. Assists the Director and other library staff in special projects as required.8. Attends meetings and specialized training, as necessary.9. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Job Requirements: Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability and willingness to work weekend and evening hours and some holidays. 2. Ability to lead department operations in a customer service setting. 3. Excellent organizational and customer services skills.4. Ability to work in a Microsoft Windows-based environment.5. Ability to learn new software applications quickly and adaptability to changing technologies.6. Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.7. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.8. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duties and responsibilities.9. Excellent troubleshooting skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.4. Must be able to lift and/or move books/carts that weigh at least 30lbs. Required Certifications/Licensures: Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Major (if required: Required Experience: 1. High School Diploma and two (2) years of experience in a library position.ORAssociate's Degree or 60 completed credit hours, and one (1) year of experience in a library position. 2.
