Job Description
This entry-level position is responsible for providing day-to-day operations and Level 1 support of IT-managed technology systems and resources. This includes basic problem-solving, installation of new hardware and software, troubleshooting and repair, basic networking, and answering support questions. It provides reliable and efficient technical support to students, faculty, and staff by following established IT support procedures with a focus on customer service and quality assurance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic working knowledge of Information Technology including computers, operating systems, hardware, software, business applications, audiovisual equipment, networks, and digital video creation and streaming technologies. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Windows.
- Ability to interpret information, analyze data, and think in a logical and deliberative manner.
- Demonstrate competent operation and support of audiovisual equipment, video streaming equipment, and educational technologies.
- Ability to utilize email, phone, instant messaging, and conferencing tools to communicate with customers.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff/users while maintaining professionalism and patience.
Preferred Qualification
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Broadcast Engineering, or Interactive and Digital Media.
- Experience working in Educational Technology, AV industry, or related professional activity.
- Previous employment at a college or university.
- Demonstrated experience with digital video editing software sufficient to produce semi-professional video content.
- Previous experience running a Cablecast system.
