PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of preliminary and/or schematic diagrams, as well as employ combination of preliminary information and contributing data to develop final design.
- Investigate and procure all data required to develop a detailed design.
- Prepares complete and accurate layouts, models, and detailed assembly drawings that can be followed with minimal verbal elaboration.
- Communicates with project managers, estimators, customers, or vendors, on any critical project design issues.
- Seeks assistance in areas that require engineering or certifications beyond Caid's contractual requirements.
- Serves as a resource to project managers/engineers/estimators offering alternative or refined design options.
- Understands technical, commercial, and schedule requirements of the contract.
- Establishes checks & balances for the project to ensure that design requirements are met.
- Seeks to maximize the project efficiency and recommends constructability improvements, joint configurations, and fit-up details.
- May assist in project evaluation during the estimating phase to make design improvement suggestions which could aid in the job's overall profitability and our ability to get the job.
- Make regular in-process project reviews. Recommend corrective action when necessary.
- Perform maintenance of CAD files in response to engineering changes.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in software including Solidworks or Inventor, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and codes associated with structural steel, plate, piping, sheet metals, and vessels.
- Bachelor's Degree or 3- 5 years' job experience in a related industry
- Strong familiarity with fabrication equipment and techniques.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials
ITAR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to and abide by all ITAR-specific job standards and training. Protect and properly safeguard ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensure dissemination or disclosure of and access to "protected data" occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content.
