If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.The Library Director should have proven experience as a leader, be resourceful, energetic, and diplomatic with the ability to work collaboratively with an experienced library staff, trustees, Friends, volunteers, and town officials. The Director also ensures a safe and welcoming environment for all community members.Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in library science from an A.L.A. accredited institution and certification from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The candidate will have five years of administrative and supervisory library experience at a progressively responsible level as well as training in public administration, budgeting, and personnel management. Experience with building maintenance and the ability to coordinate with the Facilities Director is required.
