Job Description
Job Title: Global Advertising Sales Manager
Hours: Full time
Location: HQ – North America
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as key staff member selling print and digital advertising via email promotion, phone calls, and scheduled meetings, including advertising package customization.
- Monitor advertising budgets to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
- Prepare custom proposals and presentations based on advertiser’s goals and objectives.
- Maintain and update active database of current and prospective advertisers, utilizing shared CRM database.
- Research and contact new potential advertisers and maintain relationships with existing clients, advertising agencies, and media companies.
- Assist with the production of all print and digital media kits/brochures, email campaigns, and promotional materials related to advertising.
- Develop and schedule advertising marketing content in IAAPA newsletters, regional newsletters, exhibitor bulletins, and email campaigns.
- Process advertising insertion orders, distribute invoices, and facilitate materials collection.
- Serve as primary point of contact for advertisers with questions regarding materials and deliverables, ad specifications, balances due, deadlines, etc.
- Review advertiser artwork to ensure compliance with IAAPA standards and to ensure proper placement of all print and digital ads.
- Collaborate with other IAAPA departments (internal clients) on advertising offerings and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Oversee production schedules to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Detail-oriented data entry specific to advertising sales, tracking, layout, and billings.
- Generate webpage tickets to update advertiser artwork on association website.
- Upload artwork and manage client dashboards for ad retargeting campaigns.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
- Assist with the processing and remittance of invoicing and follow up with delinquent payments for advertisers.
- Provide input and assist with the budgeting process.
- Prepare weekly sales activity reports and provide updates in team meetings.
- Conduct onsite advertising sales, service, and support at IAAPA trade shows, conferences, and other events.
- Attend applicable industry trade shows and events as approved to promote IAAPA advertising opportunities and stay up to date on industry trends.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Provide sales and support coverage during the absence of sales colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of success in sales performance with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience specific to advertising sales. Strong sales experience within association programs and/or trade shows preferred.
- Knowledge of print and digital advertising, creative/production requirements and guidelines.
- Knowledge of sales and promotion strategies, best practices, and prevailing trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Acute capacity to prioritize, meet strict deadlines, and make productive use of time under pressure.
- Ability to work productively with a global team of professionals.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to balance several projects at once.
- Motivated, self-starter with ability to work as a team and independently with little supervision.
- Proactive in identifying problems and developing creative, efficient solutions.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office suite of products. Ad Orbit, Fonteva, Map Your Show, SharePoint and Salesforce software knowledge preferred but not required. Digital marketing and graphic design knowledge is preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to IAAPA events.
- Ability to work weekends or after business hours during busy expo/event times.
- Experience or interest in amusement park and attractions industry a plus.
