Local Denver law firm is looking to add a detail oriented and highly motivated Senior Accountant to their accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Banking Transactions: Oversee and process daily banking transactions, ensuring all deposits, transfers, and withdrawals are recorded accurately.
- ACH Payments: Initiate ACH payments as approved, ensuring timely and accurate transactions are processed in accordance with firm policies.
- Cost Uploading: Accurately upload costs related to legal matters, ensuring that all financial data is recorded in the accounting system.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including legal and operations, to ensure proper financial controls are in place and transactions are handled in a compliant manner.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on banking, transactions, and reconciliations.
- Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (experience with Aderant is a plus).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including bank reconciliation and cost tracking.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
