Role

HILOS is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Computational Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and developing cutting-edge computational design tools and techniques that push the boundaries of footwear design, engineering, and manufacturing. You will work closely with our cross-functional team of 3D engineers, designers, and developers to explore and develop innovative footwear concepts that translate into our cloud-based developer platform Interplay, and into physical production.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, marketing) to bring innovative footwear concepts to life.
2. Prototype ideas using computational design and algorithmic methodologies, such as Grasshopper or Houdini.
3. Create and implement specifications for additive manufacturing.
4. Manage multiple projects effectively and communicate progress clearly.
5. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational design, 3D printing, and digital fabrication technologies relevant to the footwear industry.

Essential Experience

1. 6-8 years of professional computational design experience in a relevant field, such as Industrial Design, Architecture, or Computer Science.
2. Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, including Rhino, Grasshopper, and other relevant tools.
3. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
4. Passion for emerging technologies and a strong desire to push the boundaries of footwear design.

Nice to Have

1. Experience with footwear design and development, or a strong interest in footwear.
2. Proficiency in Python, or a desire for self-directed learning.
3. Experience with 3D printing and other digital fabrication techniques.
4. Experience deploying software.
