We are seeking an analytical, collaborative critical thinker who will be accountable for leading data management, analysis, and reporting activities at the College to support evidence-based decisions and the College’s strategic priorities. The Senior Data Analyst will work across all Departments at the College and with external partners.
Reporting to the Director of Data & Research, the key areas of responsibility are to:
- Lead quantitative data analyses and data management activities across departments.
- Lead data quality processes, data cleanup, and other tasks to ensure that datasets are ready for analyses.
- Perform complex quantitative analyses and provide interpretations following the College’s policies and processes.
- Write reports that include recommendations and options based on data analyses.
- Lead the sharing of quantitative data and dissemination of analytical results.
- Provide advice and directions to maintaining and improving the College’s databases.
- Manage the process to maintain and update the College’s Data Inventory.
- Contribute to the development of a knowledge mobilization strategy for the College.
- Lead the development and implementation of data requests and data sharing process for the College; respond to data requests from internal and external partners.
- Lead the development and implementation of a data visualization plan for the College.
Qualifications
- Four-year college or university program or equivalent with a focus on quantitative or statistical research, quantitative data management and analysis or data science.
- Four years’ experience including working in a data management and analysis or data science role.
- Experience with moderate to high proficiency using various statistical analysis and programming software (e.g. SPSS, SSRS, R, Python).
- Experience with moderate to high proficiency using SQL Server.
- Experience with moderate to high proficiency using various data visualization methods and tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau).
- Judgement and analytical skills to identify and scope data-related issues, conduct research, analyze data and formulate/analyze options.
- Flexibility to work well independently and in a team in a remote-first environment with competing priorities.
- Written communication skills to prepare detailed and accurate documentation.
- Listening, verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills to communicate with a variety of parties.
- Initiative and time management skills to work well independently and collaboratively.
- Coaching and management skills to motivate and develop project team members.
