Requisition ID: 1051Salary Range: $32.37 To 43.38 HourlyReporting to the Interim Associate Director of Digital Content and Division Manager, the Associate Web Content Editor (Fixed-Term) helps ensure website content is engaging, accessible, accurate, and up-to-date. This role performs a wide variety of administrative and editorial tasks, including writing, editing, proofreading, layout, and routing.This position has a fixed term length of 9 months, beginning October, 2024.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:Publishes regular content updates on all FAMSF web properties (excluding the online store), including entering text and image-based content into the Content Management System (CMS).Works with Web, Marketing, Communications, Education, Media Services, Membership, and other appropriate teams to proactively pursue and ensure content is current and relevant across the website.Writes, edits, and proofreads text, including event, exhibition, web articles, and other digital content as needed.Formats and edits content and metadata to follow Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.Builds and formats content in the CMS, verifying the correct display of information and troubleshooting, as necessary.Routes content for approvals internally and externally. Consolidates and compiles feedback for web pages and related projects.Helps clear rights for image usage in non-commercial channels, as appropriate.Performs administrative duties, such as processing payments for vendors, scheduling meetings, and taking notes.Assists Digital Project Manager in preparing web analytics reports.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityWork Experience: At least three years of editorial experience in digital publishingSkills and Abilities:Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groupsAbility to work simultaneously on multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a highly demanding and fast-paced work environmentProven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a collaborative, cross-departmental teamA high level of initiative, problem-solving skills, organization, and project management capabilitiesExperience working with authors and subject matter experts on content developmentStrong knowledge of English language, grammar, and written word, including copyediting and proofreading skillsStrong writing skills, with demonstrated ability to write accurate, concise, and engaging copy drawing from different sources, and to adapt content according to the target audiences (art enthusiasts, art experts, family and kids) and content types (calendar listings, exhibition pages, informational pages, online magazine, op-eds, deep-dive educational articles, etc.)Knowledge of Chicago and AP styleKnowledge of SEO best practicesDemonstrated skills in production workflowExperience in using content management systems such as Wordpress, Drupal, or custom platforms and project management software, such as Asana and JIRAAbility to create and edit visual assets for web and digital platforms in Adobe CSAbility to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacyFlexibility in meeting shifting demands and prioritiesAdditional:Schedule: This 9-month, fixed-term Union position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
