JOB SUMMARY: The Designer - Interiors position reports directly to the Senior Design Director. The Designer - Interiors is responsible for designing efficient, comfortable, safe, and visually pleasing spaces for clients, with direction from Design Directors, Senior Project Designers, and other project leadership. Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Participate in developing and planning design concepts of interior environments in collaboration with the project team. Research and select furniture, finishes, and lighting specifications. Prepare design development presentations, including furniture presentations. Communicate design concepts effectively to clients to convey design direction. Utilize technical knowledge to participate in creating Construction Document sets for permits, pricing, and construction. Review shop drawings, lighting, finishes, and submittals for approval. Correspond daily with vendors and contractors regarding orders and project updates. Assist the project team with coordination among consultants, suppliers, trades, MEP engineers, AV/IT consultants, and other trades related to project design. Support the senior design team with research, data collection, larger design projects, and presentation assembly as needed. Communicate effectively with clients and manage in-house and client presentations. Requirements
Perform other related duties as required. Experience and Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of experience in Interior Design. Experience in furniture and finishes selection, specification, procurement, and bid evaluation. Experience with construction administration. LEED, NCIDQ, IIDA certifications are preferred.
