The Global Marketing team is develops strategies, plans, communications, campaigns and projects influencing all of our 27 Business Units across the US, Canada and Europe.
The Global Director of Marketing Excellence will lead this multifunctional team in budget planning, media strategy, social media and marketing effectiveness. This role will also be responsible global agency relationships, contracts and Circle K's global optimization project Fit to Serve.
In this role you lead a shared service department with specialisms in media, performance marketing, marketing technology and social media. This role will also have embedded resource from the global data and analytics team and Insights team.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Effectiveness: Responsible for the company's understanding of the return on marketing spend. Coordinates with D&A team for annual project management and output.
Global Media Oversight: Contract owner for Global Media and Digital relationships. Leads internal media teams and responsible for the company's $75m global ad spend.
Annual Budget Building: Responsible for "bottom up" budget planning and initiation of annual budget planning system.
Global Marketing Optimization (Fit to Serve): Coordinates Global Marketing teams initiatives, targets and reporting.
Global Social Strategy and Governance: Oversees the global strategy and governance for social media in conjunction with the Central Marketing Team (NA & Eur), Global Brand and Global Comms teams
Marketing Technology: Responsible for coordinating Martech for Global Marketing with IT and bringing new in-housing initiatives into the teams (including Dynamic Creative Optimization)
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
- Minimum 15 years advertising experience including social and digital platforms as well as traditional media channels.
- Will be currently working in a media or strategic marketing agency or working in a strategic marketing function.
- Has very strong project management in a complex environment, preferably in an international context
- Budget and cost analysis experience
- Knowledge of market research practices and statistical modelling techniques as it relates to developing marketing strategies.
- Will understand customer journeys and how to influence them across multiple online to offline journeys from owned channels - in-store, mobile applications, websites and social media to 3rd party platforms websites, apps emails.
- In-depth digital marketing experience with an understating of and background in DCO, A/B testing, programmatic advertising.
- Experience in social strategic planning across social platforms.
- BI/similar Sales reporting knowledge: ability to both apply and interpret data practically for use in real-world scenarios.
- Be able to adapt to rapidly changing environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Ideal candidate would be a self-starter and comfortable working cross functionally and as part of a team.
- History of successful team management and mentoring (preferably in international environment)
- Maintain a positive team attitude and professional demeanor.
- Is fluent in English, both oral and written
