Project Designer . THE OPPORTUNITY As the Project Designer and selected candidate, you will be responsible for producing high-quality piping and mechanical drawings for slurry transport systems and specialized equipment in the mining and resource industries. Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, this role demands accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards and procedures. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Drafting & Design Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Hydraulic Grade Lines (HGLs) from engineering sketches, ensuring proper use of process symbols. Assist in creating, modifying, and finalizing piping systems and pump station drawings (plans, elevations, and sections) based on engineering inputs. Support engineers by performing material take-offs, developing bills of quantities, and preparing equipment lists and cost estimates. Conduct site visits when required to measure and document equipment and system layouts. Quality & Compliance Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and delivered on time, following company drafting standards and procedures. Conduct self-checks on drawings before submission to project engineers. Work collaboratively within a team of engineers and other drafting professionals to deliver high-quality results. Maintain a professional attitude and contribute to a positive team environment. QUALIFICATIONS 5–10 years of drafting experience in a relevant field. Formal drafting training from a recognized institution. Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D. Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Excel and Word. Valid driver’s license with a willingness to travel when necessary. Other Useful experience 3D modeling experience (preferably with Inventor or AutoCAD). Hands-on experience with site measurements, fabrication, or workshop processes. Estimating and costing knowledge.
