The Executive Digital Producer is responsible for daily management and training of web producers, web reporters, and social media producers in the KRON4 newsroom. The Executive Digital Producer will also oversee and improve the daily packaging of all digital editorial content published and distributed across KRON4.com platforms with the goal of increasing local user interactivity and traffic.Responsibilities
Oversee daily operation of KRON's digital productsTrain, coach, and manage a team of digital producers and editor/distribution producersCommunicate goals, processes, and expectations for digital success across all departmentsCommunicate digital data goals and results on a daily basis to digital team and regional leaders plus the other Nexstar stations based in CaliforniaEstablish expectations and accountability for digital KPIs, including increasing pageviews and pages/sessionEvaluate website and streaming traffic trends to make daily and long-term content decisionsAssign and edit stories, photographs, graphics, videos, audio, and other news content for digital platformsBuild relationships across the newsroom to assure we are first to market with breaking news and enterprise contentWilling to adjust hours as needed to coach direct reports or produce content, if necessaryQualifications
Thorough knowledge of journalistic principles, ethics, and standardsExcellent news judgment and knowledge in managing online news operationsOrganized, technical problem solver to manage briskly paced, multi-platform digital news operationExpert in SEO best practices and AP StyleProficient in Wordpress, Google Analytics, Chartbeat, and CrowdTangleExcellent communications skills to effectively navigate the evolving and growing influence of digital across all departmentsSelf-motivated, competitive, assertive, and capable of working independently and under pressureExperience in building digital news teams and news operationsB.A. in journalism, mass communications, marketingNexstar Media Group, Inc.
