The Opportunity Provide regional and/or multi-sector leadership to ensure transportation planning subject matter, technical deliverables, and programs are delivered with a high level of quality that meets or exceeds industry standards. Responsible for SME innovation and administration; ensuring compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations; and providing strategic direction to address current and future planning challenges in a large-scale organization. Your Impact Lead complex transportation studies involving modeling, analysis, GIS, air quality, land use, congestion, demand management, and multi-modal planning Develop plans and approaches for transportation projects Support funding efforts at local, state, and federal levels Oversee workplan goals, policies, procedures, budgets, and monitor progress Maintain industry leadership and coordinate with agencies and officials Evaluate legislation impacts and represent WSP in public and official settings Develop and oversee transportation planning programs and studies Prepare evaluations, reports, and support funding strategies Monitor modeling activities and ensure compliance with federal standards Provide technical support including GIS, survey, and market research services Coordinate model validation and forecast scenarios Assist in drafting reports, briefings, and presentations Who You Are Knowledge of: Transportation planning principles, laws, and regulations Budgeting, funding, and administrative principles Environmental and social issues affecting transportation Ability to: Lead major planning functions and teams Strategize and plan financially and staffing needs Establish policies and interpret laws Analyze problems and communicate effectively Manage staff and interact with stakeholders Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience 15+ years of transportation planning experience Experience with LRTP reviews and approvals Technical excellence and leadership skills Knowledge of planning practices, laws, and compliance Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree Professional licensure/certification
