Overview
Boldist is seeking a doubly daring UI Designer based in Orlando, FL
About the Role:
This is a contract position (part-time in-office) that could expand to full-time for the right candidate. You'll be the sole designer, working directly with a product owner to bring complex app interfaces to life.
About You:
You're a craftsman. Or craftswoman. You dream in type, and bad user experiences make you anxious, angry, and sad. That’s because you’ve got a good eye for design, or two, and the ability to take even the best user experience and make it better. You get it - before you know what IT is. You’re responsible. You have a superpower for design that helps users find their way through websites. You create with the precision of an Olympic archer. You leave no detail to attend for itself. You have a thirst that has you improving yourself so much your past self looks up to your current self and says, “Wow, nice work…”
On top of having the courage of a tiger, you have strengths in the following areas
UX/UI Design - Creating intuitive, user-centered interfaces that balance form and function
Typography - There is more to the web than Verdana, and you know it.
Figma Mastery - Advanced skills in component creation, design systems, and prototyping
Attention to Detail - You don’t sweat the big stuff because you pay attention to the small stuff.
Organization - If there was a naming convention, you would be there.
Communication - You like showing your team how talented you are with frequent updates
Other - You have more skills. Let us know what they are.
Your Toolbox:
- Hands-on experience with design software, including (you guessed it) Figma
- The ability to communicate with and design from wireframes
- An understanding of cross-platform responsive patterns
- Consistency to brand web standards and guidelines
- An understanding of the design possibilities of web technologies, mobile platforms, and eCommerce solutions
- Experience with design systems and component libraries
- Proficiency with other design tools (Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.)
- Understanding of development constraints and possibilities
- Accessibility abilities
- Familiarity with user testing and feedback implementation
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of professional UX/UI design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating, at the risk of repeating ourselves, UX/UI work
- Degree in Design or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Availability to work part-time in our Orlando office (hybrid arrangements available for exceptional candidates)(no, you can’t change our mind, we’re sorry)
- A creative mind with a positive outlook on life
