This Vice President position is responsible for overseeing technical aspects and training within Property Claims. The successful candidate will collaborate with the technical team to ensure robust technical standards and consistency in the Property Claims discipline. This role will report directly to the Chief Technical Officer of Property Claims.
Job Description:
- Serve as a primary technical resource for Field Claim Operations and Claim Service Centers, providing expertise on legal principles, statutes, and regulatory matters related to property claims. Collaborate with these teams to facilitate high-level reviews and resolutions of property claim issues.
- Ensure property claims teams deliver service-oriented claims handling by providing focused training, guidance, and direct involvement in file management, maintaining consistency and technical excellence.
- Act as a resource for the Claim Director and General Adjuster Technical Trainer to support the development of the large loss team as needed.
- Build repeatable training which builds upon the technical proficiency of the entire property claims discipline on topics encompassing legal issues, coverage, service, and compliance.
- Work with Chubb underwriting partners reporting on claim trends, large losses, emerging risks, policy language refinement, etc. In accordance with the CTO and Tech team, assure a claims handling approach in line with underwriting intent.
- Present to senior leaders and business partners on emerging risks, coverage and claim trends.
- Coordinate and collaborate with General Counsel, Coverage & Complex Team (litigation management), Compliance and Claims Actuarial on a wide variety of topics. Work with the CTO and Tech Team to develop and present any necessary training and/or claim handing guidance to staff.
- Assure consistency in CAT claim handling across all of property claims by providing event specific coverage and technical guidance in collaboration with our underwriting business partners, General Counsel & Compliance.
- Collaborate with the Quality Audit Team to establish clear expectations regarding leakage, coverage, and claims handling processes. Analyze data from claim reviews and audit results to identify training needs and partner with property leaders and Claims Learning & Development to implement both formal and informal training programs.
- Work directly with Chubb's Governmental Affairs Team on regulatory matters impacting Chubb and the broader industry to include providing feedback on draft legislation.
- Embrace with digital technologies available through Chubb systems to enhance business outcomes and improve the property claim team's quality and effectiveness of work.

Qualifications
- Strong Property Insurance claims background both personal and commercial lines.
- Compliance and regulatory experience in all 50 states.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
- Designations from CPCU, SCLA, AIC, etc. are preferred.
- Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of property claims handling experience.
- Prior management responsibilities are helpful.
- Extensive coverage/contract knowledge.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Strong abilities in coverage application, litigation, and contractual relationships.
- Capable of interaction and guidance to underwriting on contract language, claim trend analysis, etc.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, including large-group presentation skills.
