The Children's Museum of Indianapolis seeks an Exhibit Design Intern to join our Exhibit Design team. In this role, you will gain exposure to various aspects of exhibit design-from research and concept development to digital model building, material exploration, and propping. This hands-on, project-based internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the exhibition design process from initial concept through to final installation while building real-world experience that enhances your professional portfolio.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Create simple sketches and generate design concepts under the guidance of senior designers. Assist in developing basic 3D models using design software as assigned. Learn about various materials and their applications in exhibit design. Organize and update the exhibit design samples library. Research potential propping options and assist senior designers during the installation of props. REQUIREMENTS:
Junior, senior, or graduate status and actively pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Museum Studies, Themed Entertainment, or a related field. We request applicants submit a portfolio piece that demonstrates their design process, concept development, or visualization skills. Strong creative, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
