This position requires the candidate to be local and available for on-site podcast productions.
About the Job
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Podcast Producer/Editor to join our team on a part-time contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Shalom Austin’s podcast production and editing process, ensuring high-quality audio and engaging content that aligns with our brand and goals.
Essential Functions
- Pre-Production
• Collaborate with the team to brainstorm, plan, and develop podcast episodes.
• Research topics, guests, and current trends relevant to the podcast’s focus.
• Coordinate and schedule interviews with guests and hosts. - Production
• Record episodes, on-site, ensuring high-quality audio and a seamless recording process.
• Provide direction during recordings to maintain flow and content quality. - Post-Production
• Edit audio files for clarity, pacing, and overall sound quality.
• Add music, sound effects, and other elements to enhance the listening experience.
• Create finalized episodes for publication and distribution. - Distribution & Promotion
• Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional materials (e.g., episode descriptions, social media posts).
• Upload episodes to podcast platforms and ensure proper metadata and tagging.
• Monitor listener feedback and metrics to improve future content.
• Maintain an organized production schedule and meet all deadlines.
Requirements
- Applicants must reside in Austin, TX, or the surrounding area to be considered for this position.
- Proven experience in podcast production, audio editing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity, GarageBand, etc.).
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail and quality.
