The Graphic Designer-I plays a vital role in visually communicating The Potter’s House mission and
message. This role is responsible for creating compelling, innovative, and inspiring designs across
digital, social, print, and environmental platforms. The Graphic Designer will collaborate with and report
to the Art Director and Creative Director/Head of Creative to develop impactful visuals that engage our
community, enhance storytelling, and bring the vision of The Potter’s House to life.
Key Responsibilities:
VISUAL STORYTELLING & Brand identity:
• Design creative assets that align with The Potter’s House branding, ensuring consistency across
all platforms.
• Develop digital and print materials, including sermon graphics, event promotions, social media
content, email templates, and signage.
• Create compelling visuals that support storytelling efforts across worship services, ministry
programs, and community initiatives.
GRAPHIC DESIGN & Content creation:
Design engaging social media graphics, motion graphics, and multimedia assets optimized for
Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
• Develop on-brand templates for digital and print content, ensuring a seamless look and feel
across all channels.
• Collaborate with videographers and content creators to enhance motion-based storytelling with
graphic overlays and animations.
• Maintain and update visual assets for website and mobile app experiences.
Creative Strategy & innovation
• Work closely with the creative and content teams to develop new design concepts and
campaigns that resonate with our audience.
• Stay ahead of design trends and emerging digital aesthetics to ensure fresh and innovative
branding for The Potter’s House.
• Assist in creating visual branding for special initiatives, conferences, and ministry events.
Develop compelling visual presentations to support internal and external communications.
COLLABORATION & OVERSIGHT:
• Work directly with the Creative Director/Head of creative to ensure visuals align with strategic
messaging.
• Partner with content producers, social media managers, and marketing teams to create highimpact
graphics that drive engagement.
• Maintain an organized asset library, ensuring easy access to design files and templates.
• Coordinate with external vendors for print production, signage, and other design needs.
Performance Analysis & Optimization:
•
Use tools like HubSpot, Google Analytics, and native platform insights to measure engagement
and optimize content strategies.
• Track social media trends and analytics to continuously refine content and improve audience
reach with the channels team.
• Assist in implementing SEO and video optimization best practices to maximize discoverability
and engagement.
Required Skills:
•
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and
design tools like Canva.
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design for both digital and print.
• Experience creating motion graphics, animations, and GIFs for social media and video
content.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to
detail.
• Strong understanding of branding, visual storytelling, and user experience (UX) design.
• Photography and/or video editing skills are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a faith-based, nonprofit, or missiondriven
organization.
• Experience working with social media teams and digital marketing to create engaging visual
campaigns.
• Understanding of print production, large-scale signage, and merchandise design.
