Pay Range

Base pay range
$101,401.00/yr - $131,826.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the SLA Library Services Platform (LSP) system and promote collections, resources, and services supported by this system to a global audience.
- Lead project development for the Library Services Platform (LSP) system and related projects.
- Manage the implementation and improvement projects of SLA’s LSP, serving as a Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative on related contracts.
- Coordinate acquisitions of SLA content from various libraries, vendors, and serve as a key contact with staff at all levels within Smithsonian and other organizations.
Requirements
- Pass pre-employment background investigation.
- May need to complete a probationary period.
- Maintain a bank account for direct deposit/electronic transfer.
- Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered with Selective Service.
Qualifications
All librarians must meet professional education requirements in library science or possess equivalent experience and education. Submit a legible copy of your transcripts with your application. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable initially; official transcripts are required if selected.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science plus a bachelor’s degree, or
- At least 5 years of combined education, training, and experience demonstrating knowledge of librarianship principles and library services.
Specialized Experience for GS-12
One year of experience at GS-11 level in library systems and digital technologies, with leadership responsibilities in a research or academic library.
Additional Information
This position is not included in the bargaining unit. Recruitment incentives may be offered, contingent upon availability and agreement to service conditions.
