What's the job all about?
The Marketing Associate position is an integral part of the Marketing Team. This position is responsible for managing the logistical aspects of tradeshow branding, material preparation and shipment. The Marketing Associate also plays a critical role in the crafting foundational marketing communications, conducting preliminary market research, and managing our outbound communications process. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience while working alongside seasoned professionals to provide essential support in a variety of marketing initiatives. This position is a hybrid role, based out of our San Diego, CA office.
The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate and manage tradeshow logistics effectively.
- Keep a pulse on marketing trends and best practices to aid in the development of sales and service materials.
- Conduct thorough market research using bid sourcing sites and compile relevant external market data.
- Support data analysis efforts by compiling and reporting on departmental metrics.
- Ensure quality control in daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Foster and develop professional relationships within the organization and collaborate across departments.
- Uphold the company's professional standards and demonstrate a professional demeanor in all interactions.
Please note: This role will not be responsible for social media or digital marketing efforts.
This Team Member will have:
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. A concentration in Business, Finance, Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, or Public Relations is preferred.
Industry Experience: Prior internship or work experience in a traditional marketing-related role is preferred, showcasing an understanding of B2B marketing principles and practices.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
Experience with proposal software such as Responsive or similar is valued.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities are essential, with a keen eye for detail and the capability to interpret complex data.
Software Proficiency: Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software is highly regarded. Proficiency in utilizing social media platforms and email marketing tools for business purposes is advantageous.
