Holland Harvey Architects is seeking a studio assistant to join its studio in London.
About us
We create extraordinary places that form the setting for everyday life.
Our company was founded on the belief that architecture should make a positive social and environmental impact.
Our approach is ethical, playful, and pragmatic – we pursue quality and authenticity, designing with narrative to ensure that our work tells a story.
Our team is collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and organised studio assistant to support the smooth running of our studio.
About the role
The studio assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring our studio operates efficiently and remains a welcoming, well-organised environment for our team and visitors. This is a full-time, in-studio position that requires strong administrative and organisational skills. Reporting to the associate director (operations), the studio assistant works closely with the studio manager and wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the studio.
Responsibilities
As studio assistant, you will:
- Provide general administrative support to the studio manager, associate director (operations), and wider team.
- Manage front-of-house duties, including welcoming guests, managing meeting spaces, and answering phones professionally.
- Maintain and organise the sample library.
- Monitor and restock office supplies, keeping the studio well-equipped and functional.
- Assist with organising CPD and event logistics, including scheduling, booking spaces, and liaising with external providers.
- Support financial administration, including processing expenses and tracking financial documentation.
- Provide administrative support for HR processes, such as organising interviews, managing HR files, and assisting with onboarding.
- Assist with IT troubleshooting and maintain internal systems and databases.
- Update and maintain the studio intranet, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Manage social media posts and assist with website updates (under studio manager’s guidance).
- Support internal team engagement initiatives, such as studio events and social activities.
What we offer
At Holland Harvey, our culture is centred on people and our community. We provide a supportive and structured environment to help you develop your career in studio operations. As a studio assistant, you will gain experience across multiple areas, including studio administration, HR, finance, IT, and marketing.
We offer:
- A creative, friendly, and energetic working environment.
- The opportunity to work alongside an experienced associate director (operations) and studio manager, developing key administrative and operational skills.
- The chance to take ownership of essential studio functions while being part of a growing architectural practice.
- Regular team social events and an engaging studio culture.
- A structured role with set working hours (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday).
About you
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused individual with strong communication skills.
You should:
- Have one to two years of experience in an administrative or support role (ideally within a creative or design-related environment).
- Be highly organised with excellent multitasking abilities.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams.
- Be proficient in MS Office and basic IT troubleshooting.
- Have experience in social media management, website updates, or marketing tasks (preferred but not essential).
- Be confident in handling front-of-house duties, guest interactions, and studio upkeep.
