As the Director of Publicity, you will lead the overall strategic planning and execution of high-profile publicity campaigns for our clients. In this senior leadership role, you will help manage and mentor a team of publicists, oversee the development of innovative media strategies, and ensure alignment with the company’s long-term goals. Your responsibilities will include identifying and securing new business opportunities and serving as a key agency representative in the industry at large. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive publicity strategies that elevate client profiles and drive measurable results across digital, print, and broadcast platforms. Media Relations:
Leverage and expand an extensive network of media contacts to secure top-tier placements and exclusive opportunities. Campaign Oversight:
Oversee multiple high-profile campaigns simultaneously, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timely execution of all deliverables. Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of publicists, fostering professional growth and ensuring effective collaboration. Crisis & Reputation Management:
Develop and execute proactive crisis communications plans and manage sensitive media situations as needed. Industry Representation:
Represent Audible Treats at key industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance the firm’s brand and market presence. Requirements
Experience:
A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in public relations, communications, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on music, film, TV, fashion, or pop culture. Leadership:
Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing high-level publicity campaigns. Cultural Expertise:
Deep knowledge and passion for Black culture and history, particularly hip-hop. With over 90% of our clients rooted in the hip-hop scene, you must live and breathe the culture. Media Network:
An expansive and well-established network of media contacts, with a proven track record of securing high-profile placements. Strategic Thinking:
Excellent strategic planning, project management, and problem-solving skills. Communication Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and press materials. Bonus Points
Experience working with Latin music or Afrobeats artists. Experience securing fashion-related opportunities for clients (fashion week events, photoshoots, collaborations). Background in crisis communications and executive-level media training. A history of negotiating red carpet placements and securing exclusive high-profile event opportunities. Job Details
