Bobit is seeking an editor to join its team of fleet media editors who work across multiple transportation brands. We are open to skilled professionals with applicable experience. The candidate should be a skilled, versatile content creator/reporter/editor who executes easily among multi-media and social media platforms while contributing substantially to our portfolio of content brands.
Headquartered in Torrance, CA, Bobit associates work remotely from home. Bobit is open to employing new associates in (only) the following states/areas: AL, AZ, CA (except San Francisco), CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MI, MO, NC, NV, OH, OK, OR, TN, TX, WI
Pay Info: Paid hourly - $19.23 to $21.63 per hour - Annualized pay is $40,000 to $45,000
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compile, write and edit all types of content related to multiple fleet and ground transportation niches and brands
- Successfully use content managing systems, digital photo and video tools, and social media platforms to create, manage, and post content
- Manage, develop, and create content for special projects and assignments
- Ensure all content is properly set up for SEO and best practices are followed
- Conduct video interviews for online features and social media
- Upload editorial and sponsored videos to YouTube, Anchor and Bobit CMS on regular basis
- Proofread and copy edit content
- Manage and participate in print magazine editing and production workflow
- Coordinate with outside contributors for columns and freelance articles
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and multi-task with fellow editors and team members
- Stay current on industry trends, terms, and knowledge of key players as well as meet regularly with industry readers, leaders, and advertisers
- Demonstrate professional and proactive assertiveness necessary to reach out to, and follow up with, industry contacts
- Travel required to cover and help host trade show and conference events and media/press events
- Adhere to company directives, policies, and best practices on all matters related to role at company
- Any/all other duties as assigned or required
Requirements:
- Related media work experience, including digital/web (business/financial reporting experience / interest a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (journalism, communications, or integrated/digital media)
- Evidence of excellent writing, reporting, copy editing, and proofreading abilities; knowledge of AP style; video experience a plus
- Evidence of skill and experience in SEO for content
- Fluent on social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram)
- Comfortable and capable with digital platforms and tools
- Web online/e-newsletter experience
- Photography experience
- Self-starter with the ability to push projects forward to ensure deadlines are met
- Ability and willingness to adhere to content best practices as communicated by management
