24 Seven is partnering with a local company based in Portland, OR to help them find a Social Media Specialist to join their team in this hybrid position. This is a 12 month contract with potential to extend or turn into a fulltime, salaried position working 2-3 days/week onsite, up to 40 hours/weekly. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, holiday pay, sick hours and more.
Ideal Candidate: will have 3–6 years of experience and is able to take ownership of the entire content lifecycle—from concept and creation to publishing, audience engagement, and performance analysis.
We're seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Specialist to join our client's communications team—someone who excels at generating compelling content ideas and thrives in the field capturing authentic stories. This role calls for strong editorial instincts, hands-on production abilities, and a passion for telling meaningful stories about local communities and the people behind it.
Responsibilities:
Content Development & Production
- Conceptualize, pitch, and develop original content aligned with team and agency goals.
- Write, edit, and publish content for social media, blogs, email newsletters, and company website.
- Produce compelling short-form video and photography, particularly for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Conduct field interviews with company staff (e.g., operators, mechanics, facilities teams)
- Capture video, photo, and audio using iPhones, GoPros, gimbals, and other mobile tools.
- Lead post-production, including video editing (Premiere Pro, CapCut, etc.) and asset delivery.
Social Media Execution & Engagement
- Publish and schedule content across social channels.
- Monitor posts, respond to comments and DMs, and engage with users on platforms including Instagram, Reddit, and Nextdoor.
- Surface trends, user-generated content, and emerging conversations through ongoing social listening.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Collaborate with designers, writers, and video teams to develop and refine content packages.
- Align on editorial direction and obtain input or approvals as needed.
- Help shape content strategies for campaigns, brand storytelling, and community engagement.
Qualifications:
- 3–6 years of experience in social media
- Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
- Skilled in video capture and editing for vertical-first platforms.
- Experience using publishing and monitoring tools, and a track record of community engagement.
